We are very excited to host a talk by Velizar Sadovski on 'The scary war-bands of the sacred youth: the initiation of the young in Indo-European cultures in the interplay of societal history, rituals, and mythopoetic traditions'. The talk will be followed by drinks. We hope to see you there!
Joint Classics Society Social - Thursday 22nd January, 6pm-8pm (Ioannou Centre, Outreach Room)
The Oxford Ancient Languages Society and the Christian Cole Society are delighted to invite all classicists — and anyone with an interest in the ancient world — to a joint social event. This will be a relaxed and welcoming opportunity to meet fellow students, share your love of the ancient world, and get to know Oxford’s two main Classics societies in a friendly, informal setting. After the stress of collections, join us for a relaxed and friendly evening. There will be pizza, and if you’re a Mods student, you can look forward to some extra sweets and the chance to meet others who can share advice, encouragement, and perhaps a few tips for exam prep. If you’d like to attend, please help us plan by filling out this short form:
